Fortunately, an Answer

After battling a cough since August 2016, we got our answer as to what was causing our beloved yellow Labrador's cough. Unfortunately, it was not the answer we were expecting-- lung cancer.

The purpose of this blog is not to dwell on the disease or cry about the future. It's to help us make each day count in the life of a dog who has brought us so much love and happiness.

We adopted Carly in September 2003 at the estimated age of 10 months. We made her birthday be on Halloween because this spunky spirit was always up to wonderfully devilish tricks. Through the years, she welcomed in 4 two-legged brothers and a sister, 26 foster brothers and sisters, half a dozen guinea pigs, and other creatures, She swam in the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, traveled across the southeastern United States, all over Texas and to Oklahoma. She took on a Chevy, battled a bee sting to the nose, stitches in the foot, and sports a bionic knee. She is a sweet and adventurous girl who taught us about unconditional love (no matter how big the destruction) and how to always smile.

This one's for you, Carly. Make it always count.
